Abstract
This article is concerned with co-operative development in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the group of countries that has replaced the old Soviet Union. Its is based on a study undertaken on co-operative movements in 12 states affiliated to CIS. The paper finds that these transition states have done little with regard to the renewal and strengthening of their respective co-operative sectors.
